Violent clashes broke out on Monday evening after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked a peaceful march in the northwest of Jerusalem.
According to local sources the IOF attacked a march staged by Palestinian citizens in solidarity with their compatriots in Silat al-Harithiya town in Jenin and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in east Jerusalem.
The IOF fired tear gas grenades and rubber bullets at the participants in the march near al-Khirba area between Beit Ijza town and Beit Duqqu village in the northwest of Jerusalem.
Meanwhile a horde of extremist Jewish settlers hurled rocks at Palestinian vehicles traveling on a road between the towns of Biddu and Jib in the northwest of the holy city.
Israeli soldiers also set up a makeshift checkpoint near the main entrance to Beit Duqqu town and intercepted Palestinian cars for security check.
