A number of Palestinian citizens and foreign activists suffered from inhaling tear gas on Saturday afternoon when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked a popular rally held to protest Israeli violations in Masafer Yatta south of al-Khalil.
Local sources said that the IOF showered the participants in a protest rally held in at-Tuwanah village in Masafer Yatta with volleys of tear gas canisters and stun grenades adding that several of them received on-site medical assistance while one citizen who was assaulted by Israeli soldiers was rushed to the village’s health center.
The IOF also arrested a foreign female activist and a Palestinian official from the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.
During the protest the participants carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans against Israeli practices in Masafer Yatta areas in general and in Tuwanah village in particular.
