Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday stormed Qalandia refugee camp and Kafr ‘Aqab town north of Jerusalem City amid heavy firing of tear gas canisters.
Eyewitnesses said that IOF soldiers in large numbers raided Kafr ‘Aqab and Qalandia stopped Palestinian citizens in the streets and scrutinized their IDs seized Palestinian vehicles and hindered the movement of local residents.
They reported that violent confrontations broke out as the Palestinian residents of the two areas confronted the IOF provocative raids.
The IOF heavily fired rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters at them. Many suffered breathing difficulties and were treated in the field.
Clashes between Palestinian citizens and IOF soldiers are almost daily occurrences in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
