The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped at dawn Monday a number of Palestinian citizens during raids on homes in different West Bank areas.
According to local sources the IOF kidnaped a citizen from the family of Abu Arqoub after ransacking his home in Birzeit town north of Ramallah and handed his brother a summons for interrogation from the Shin Bet.
The IOF also kidnaped two young men from al-Khalil City after raiding their homes.
Meanwhile the IOF set up in the morning several military checkpoints and intensified its presence in southern Jenin north of the West Bank.
Eyewitnesses said that the IOF obstructed the movement of Palestinian vehicles and passengers after deploying several checkpoints on roads in southern Jenin including on the Nablus-Jenin road and at the main entrance of Jinan suburb in Jenin.
IOF vehicles also patrolled different areas in southern Jenin in the morning.
In this regard the Israeli military and security authorities have announced their intent to intensify their campaigns in Jenin and Nablus in particular following reports claiming that Palestinian resistance cells plan to launch operations in retaliation for recent Israeli crimes and violations in the occupied West Bank.
The IOF has been carrying out near-daily raids in the West Bank in recent months prompting the Palestinian resistance to launch retaliatory operations against Israeli targets.
The IOF faced fierce resistance during most of these raids which in some instances turned deadly.
More than 60 Palestinian citizens including resistance fighters have been killed by the IOF since the start of the current year according to official Palestinian statistics.
