IOF raids metalworking shop assaults its owner in Tulkarem

Friday 12-May-2017

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Friday wreaked havoc on a metalworking shop and brutalized its owner and his family in Deir al-Ghusun town northeast of Tulkarem province in the West Bank.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that Israeli soldiers broke into and ransacked a workshop belonging to Bashir Abu Zeitun and caused widespread destruction to its equipment.

The sources added that the soldiers also searched the house of Abu Zeitun and assaulted him and his family members pointing out that a large number of troops were deployed on the town’s streets during the raid.

The Israeli army recently intensified its raids on West Bank metalworking shops whose equipment and machines were either confiscated or destroyed by soldiers at the pretext they were used to manufacture weapons.

In a separate incident the IOF stormed Nur Shams east of Tulkarem and arrested head of its popular service committee Taha al-Irani during a violent raid on his home.
