The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday demolished a Palestinian-owned car wash and confiscated its equipment in al-Khader town south of Bethlehem.
Local official Hasan Bureijia said that the IOF stormed Umm Rukba area of the town knocked down a car wash belonging to Ahmed Abdul-Salam and seized its equipment at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
Bureijia added that the IOF had informed Abdul-Salam of its intent to demolish his facility last March.
In a separate incident the IOF set up a makeshift checkpoint near the tourist village of Haddad east of Jenin city.
Local sources said that the IOF intercepted dozens of Palestinian vehicles at the checkpoint checked the IDs of passengers and interrogated many of them.
The IOF also intensified its presence near Jenin city villages and towns.
In northern Jerusalem the IOF intensified its security measures at the Qalandiya crossing where soldiers checked the IDs of passengers and searched cars.
