The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday morning demolished a number of homes and tents in the Bedouin community of al-Qabboun near al-Mughayir village in the northeast of Ramallah.
According to local sources several trucks escorted by a large number of Israeli forces stormed al-Qabboun hamlet and embarked on demolishing five homes and tents and confiscating water tanks tractors and other equipment and stuff belonging to the local residents.
A local official said that the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) seeks to end the Bedouin presence in the area as part of its efforts to complete the settlement belt along the eastern side of the West Bank and isolate the Jordan Valley from the West Bank.
For several decades the IOA has been targeting the Palestinian Bedouin communities in the north and east of Ramallah with the aim of forcing the local residents to leave the area and expanding Jewish settlements.
