The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Sunday reclosed the road barrier near an-Naqura town on the Jenin-Nablus road north of the West Bank.
Sebastia town mayor Mohamed Azem said that Israeli soldiers shut down a major section of the Nablus-Jenin road using a swing barrier gate outside the illegal settlement of Shavei Shomron which is located about eight kilometers to the west of Nablus.
He added that the road closure forced Palestinian vehicles to use alternative and longer routes.
This section of the road which is considered a major point of transportation connecting the north center and south of the occupied West Bank has been blocked almost most of the time for nearly one month and has only been reopened sporadically for short periods by the IOF.
