The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday evening set up a makeshift checkpoint on the main road leading to Azzun town east of Qalqilya in the West Bank and obstructed the movement of vehicles
Local sources said that Israeli soldiers blocked the main entrance to the town and embarked on searching passing cars and checking the IDs of passengers.
They complained that the Israeli army erects barriers on the road almost on a daily basis which prompts drivers to take other routes.
Azzun and its vicinity have been a flashpoint for many years because of the presence of three illegal settlements encircling it from three sides.
