Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and Jewish settlers chopped down dozens of fruitful trees in Beit Ummar town to the north of al-Khalil on Friday.
Mohammed Awad a local media activist said that IOF soldiers and settlers uprooted more than 130 almond trees and bulldozed five dunums of agricultural land owned by two families in the town.
He explained that the destruction was carried out to pave the way for expanding the nearby Jewish-only settlement of Karmei Tzur.
The activist said that the land lot falls behind the fence surrounding the settlement yet the two families have title deeds proving their ownership of the land.
