IOF soldiers close down 3 Palestinian private institutions including charity

Sunday 18-March-2007

RAMALLAH (PIC)– IOF troops at dawn Sunday ransacked three Palestinian private institutions in Ramallah city in the West Bank including one working in the field of charity then ordered their closure for two years.

Local sources said that the soldiers who arrived in big numbers broke into the Palestinian health institution in Kaddoura refugee camp south of Ramallah and confiscated its computers after wreaking havoc in it.

Sources in the institution said that it had obtained work permit from the PA interior ministry and had started working only two weeks ago. They said that the institution had nothing to do with politics and was only engaged in health services.

The IOF troops glued an order at the institution’s outer walls stipulating its closure for two years at the orders of the Israeli minister of war.

Other IOF units simultaneously stormed the Farah charitable society in downtown Ramallah and closed it for the same period on charges of supporting “terrorism”.

The IOF soldiers also burst into the Awael for computers and students services and closed it for two year years after destroying its property.

Meanwhile an Israeli settler ran over a Palestinian citizen in Bethlehem district before noon Sunday.

The Hebrew radio quoted police sources as saying that the wounded Palestinian was taken to Hadassah – Ein Karem hospital where his condition was described as “serious”. They added that the Israeli driver was taken for questioning then released later on.

In the Gaza Strip the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement on Sunday took the credit for firing an “upgraded” Quds-3 missile at Ashkelon.

It said that Israeli sources acknowledged that three settlers were wounded when the missile blasted south of the city occupied since 1948.
