Violent confrontations flared up on Monday morning as Israeli occupation forces (IOF) raided Qalandiya refugee camp north of Occupied Jerusalem and attacked Palestinian residents with tear gas canisters and stun grenades.
Local sources said that IOF soldiers in large numbers stormed Qalandiya refugee camp in the early morning hours and heavily fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades at Palestinian houses.
Meanwhile the IOF closed the Container Checkpoint between the southern area of the West Bank and al-Ezariya town east of Jerusalem hindering the movement of Palestinian citizens.
The Container Checkpoint which was built on Palestinian land seized from as-Sawahira ash-Sharqiya village has been the only route for Palestinian vehicles passing between Ramallah Jerusalem Bethlehem and al-Khalil since the construction of the apartheid wall.
