Scores of Palestinian citizens on Wednesday evening suffered from inhaling tear gas after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed Sebastia town in northern Nablus and attacked them.
Sebastia mayor Mohamed Azem said that violent clashes broke out with Israeli soldiers who stormed the town while firing shots and tear gas canisters at local residents.
Azem added that many citizens suffered from their exposure to tear gas during the events.
On Tuesday a large number of Israeli troops were deployed in the archeological area of Sebastia town.
A local resident was also ordered to remove a fence around his agricultural land in the area.
Mayor Azem already warned of Israel’s plan to impose its control over the archeological site of the town especially after the Israeli government earmarked millions of shekels to seize Palestinian historical sites in the West Bank in cooperation with the council of settlements.
