Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) created a new rapid intervention force to be deployed along the Palestinian-Jordanian border. The new brigade will be responsible for rapidly dealing with possible military operations carried out through the border.
Maarif Hebrew newspaper quoted on Thursday Israeli occupation army sources as saying that the new brigade will be composed of the elite units of the military including reserve soldiers who are recruited from the settlements along the border.
The missions of the new rapid intervention force are going to be similar to those of Eilat Counterterrorism Unit near the border with Egypt.
The Israeli army had previously formed a military unit called “Lions of Desert” in order to control the border with Jordan.
