IOF to intensify offensive on Gaza after killing 100 Palestinians in three weeks

Thursday 23-November-2006

Nazareth – Apparently not satisfied with killing more than a hundred Palestinian citizens almost half of them children and wounding hundreds others in less than a month the Israeli mini security cabinet decided on Wednesday to intensify the military offensive against the unarmed Palestinian citizens in Gaza Strip.

Israeli military and political analysts opined that the decision was hastily made in response to the killing of two Israeli settlers and wounding tens others in Qassam retaliatory missile attacks on Sderot settlement where Israel’s war minister Amir Peretz lives.

A series of Israeli military campaigns on Gaza Strip failed in thwarting those home-made Palestinian missiles from rocking Israeli settlements in the 1948-occupied Palestinian Negev desert.

According to Hebrew political circles the council shrugged off suggestions made by fanatic members proposing a full-scale blitz on the Strip in retaliation to those missiles.

Sources in the Israeli military asserted that the IOF troops will keep the pressure on the rockets’ launchers and that they will make sure that smuggling of weapons from Egypt to Gaza Strip will stop; but it added no discussions about carrying out a “big” offensive were made during the session.

In the same context Israeli intelligence sources revealed that the armed wing of Hamas the Qassam Brigades will be able to produce a Katyusha missile with a range of 20 km that would be able to strike everywhere in the coastal city of Ashkelon.

According to the sources the armed wing of Hamas was rapidly and efficiently developing its military and missile capabilities that became a nightmare for Israel.

“Engineers of Hamas are trying to manufacture missiles similar to the Russian-made Grad rockets and they are achieving good progress in this regard” the sources revealed adding that the Qassam rockets became more accurate and more effective in hitting their targets.

Furthermore the Israeli intelligence sources warned that if such anticipation becomes true then sensitive and vital Israeli installations in Ashkelon will become under the mercy of those missiles that per se is a catastrophe for the Hebrew state.

“Those Palestinian organizations are now possessing technological know-how on manufacturing and upgrading weapons that they had never dreamt of having before” the intelligence sources alleged.
