RAMALLAH (PIC)– IOF troops used excessive force to disperse a peaceful march organized on Friday in Bil’in village in the West Bank to protest the illegal apartheid wall being built on the village’s lands resulting in the injury of six citizens including AFP photographer Abbas Al-Momani.
The IOF troops fired live and rubber bullets in addition to teargas canisters at the peaceful demonstrators wounding six citizens including Momani who was hit in his head with a rubber bullet and was rushed to the Sheikh Zayed Hospital.
The IOF troops detained the media crews present on the site for hours to prevent them from taking photos of the atrocities practiced by IOF troops and to delay their reporting. The IOF soldiers also detained a number of participants in the demonstration.
The Bil’in demonstrations against the Israeli apartheid wall have become a weekly tradition conducted every Friday noon in which Palestinian villagers and foreign activists as well as Arab Knesset members participate to express their peaceful protest against the wall; however the IOF troops never hesitate in assaulting and kidnapping them.
