IOF troops assault peaceful Ni’lin march staged on Sabra and Shatila anniversary

RAMALLAH (PIC)– A number of protesters were injured and others including journalists were arrested by IOF troops during a peaceful march organized Wednesday on the anniversary of Sabra and Shatila in the Ni’lin village west of Ramallah.

A large mass of people participated in the march organized by the Ni’lin committee to resist the wall despite the Israeli blockade imposed on the village where the IOF troops blocked ambulance crews journalists and activists from reaching the village and closed all entrances.

Members of the Jewish an anti-Israel organization called Natori Carta participated in the march as well. They carried the Palestinian flag and a banner reading “no to occupation yes to an independent Palestinian state.”

The IOF troops savagely attacked the march from all directions which resulted in the injury of six Palestinian citizens and the arrest of five supporters while many others suffered from suffocation because of inhaling tear gas.

The IOF troops also physically assaulted a foreign photographer and sympathizer called Yutan where they kept beating him severely all over his body and broke his camera. More Israeli military reinforcements reached the scene and started to chase protesters even into the village neighborhoods and deliberately fired tear gas canisters at the houses.
