IOF troops attack wall protesters at Bilin

Friday 23-February-2007

RAMALLAH (PIC) — IOF troops on Friday dealt violently with a peaceful weekly anti-apartheid wall demonstration in the village of Bilin in the southern West Bank.

Every week local people who are affected by the wall along with international and Israeli activists demonstrate against the apartheid wall being built on lands confiscated from Palestinian landowners.

The IOF troops usually respond with tear gas rubber bullets and sound bombs. Today the IOF also used water canons to disperse the demonstrators.

IOF troops were posted in olive groves to prevent demonstrators from crossing the iron gates installed by the occupation to isolate confiscated land belonging to the villagers.

A number of demonstrators were injured and a number of others were arrested by the IOF troops.
