Saturday 14-April-2007

QALQILIA (PIC)– Large numbers of IOF troops backed by at least nine military vehicles have swept the West Bank city of Qalqilia at dawn Saturday and destroyed home of a Palestinian captive wounding two women inside the house local sources affirmed.

The sources added that the Israeli incursion was coupled with intensive machinegun shooting before the soldiers headed to the house of Palestinian captive Ali Nazzal and wounded two female relatives.

Children in the house were extremely frightened as they watched the soldiers pointing their rifles at them before forcing them out of the house and reducing it to rubbles using TNT.

The two wounded ladies were identified as Sahar Amin Nazzal 40 and Feda’a Abdul Hafeeth Amer 29 who were hit in the left and right shoulder respectively.

Hospital sources described their wounds as moderate; but a number of nearby houses were badly affected by the explosion.

Nazzal was kidnapped along with more than 20 Hamas cadres at the hands of IOF troops in the city three weeks ago.

Although the Israeli domestic intelligence apparatus (Shabak) alleged that the arrested Hamas cadres were planning anti-Israel armed operations; yet Hamas Movement and local observes asserted it was a deliberate IOF attempt to round up as much Hamas cadres in the city as they could.

Within last week only the IOF troops carried out 27 military incursions through out the West Bank raiding tens of Palestinian buildings and arbitrarily shooting at Palestinian civilians a documented report issued by the Palestinian human rights center unveiled.

The report further unmasked that scores of Palestinian citizens were arrested including religious figures and academicians during the same period that rose the number of Palestinian citizens arrested since the start of this year to 893.

According to the report Palestinian hospitals and paramedics weren’t spared the IOF aggressions as Israeli soldiers stormed a number of local hospitals alleging they were searching for wanted Palestinian activists and hampered work of Palestinian ambulances at roadblocks.
