IOF troops close down six charities wound two Palestinians

Wednesday 5-September-2007

NABLUS (PIC)– The IOF command on Wednesday ordered the closure of six Palestinian charitable societies in Nablus after claiming they were affiliated with the Hamas Movement.

IOF soldiers at dawn Wednesday blasted their way into the Yazur charitable society in Balata refugee camp near Nablus and confiscated all what was inside the society’s premises after destroying its entrance.

In Nablus city the occupation forces stormed the Nafha society defending Palestinian prisoners and human rights and also confiscated all its property after wreaking havoc in the headquarters.

The move came in harmony with the illegitimate PA government of Salam Fayyad that ordered the closure of 103 charitable societies last week.

IOF sources acknowledged that three of its soldiers were wounded in the Old City of Nablus when an explosive device was blasted in one of their patrols at dawn Wednesday.

The sources said that they received field treatment before being rushed to hospital and claimed that an explosives factory was found in Balata refugee camp.

Meanwhile in Al-Khalil district two Palestinian citizens were wounded last night during confrontations between stone throwing Palestinians and the heavily armed IOF soldiers in Sa’ir village to the northeast of Al-Khalil city.

Witnesses said that a 65-year-old man was hit with two rubber bullets in his hand and chest and his condition was described as moderate while another man was hit with a bullet in his hand.

In an unrelated development an Israeli government source said that Israel plans to free 100 Fatah-affiliated members from its prisons in a new goodwill gesture to the government of Fayyad before the advent of the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

Israel has released 250 mostly Fatah prisoners on 20/7/2007 to boost the government of Fayyad. However a legal society said in a report that IOF troops kidnapped 550 Palestinians including children women and elderly people over the past month of August.
