IOF troops demolish Palestinian home start fires in Palestinian lands

Wednesday 27-June-2007

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Israeli bulldozers on Tuesday flattened the home of a Palestinian old man in Ras Al-Amod suburb in occupied Jerusalem at the usual pretext of lack of construction permit.

Local sources said that the bulldozers knocked down the 100-square-meter home of Othman Al-Yassini 61 before his very eyes.

They added that the house which was built last year was inhabited by four individuals who are now rendered homeless. Israeli occupation police sealed off the entire area and prevented citizens from approaching the demolition site.

Palestinian Jerusalemites are more often than not denied construction permits in their own city while Jewish settlers arriving from various world areas are allowed to build at liberty.

In Al-Khalil IOF troops escorting Jewish settlers set fire to Palestinian cultivated lands in Yatta village south of Al-Khalil.

Eyewitnesses said that the soldiers and settlers cooperated in setting those lands ablaze east of the town noting that hundreds of dunums of lands cultivated with trees and various other kinds of crops were destroyed including decades old trees.

The soldiers prevented the land owners from reaching their land after declaring it a closed military zone.
