IOF troops demolish five Palestinian homes in Qalqilia district

Qalqilia– IOF troops on Wednesday destroyed five Palestinian homes and a number of barracks in Hajja village to the east of Qalqilia district after allowing their occupants only 20 minutes to get out their belongings witnesses reported.

They added that IOF soldiers mounting more than 20 armored vehicles stormed the village at an early hour Wednesday and fired sonic and gas bombs at the young men who threw stones at them.

The locals reported that five youths were injured including Mohammed Masalha 20 who was hit with a sonic bomb in his face and his wounds were described as moderate.

Firas Al-Teem mayor of the village said that the IOF troops sealed off the entire area where the houses were located and dynamited them.

He charged the Israeli occupation authorities with blocking Palestinian construction of new homes while allowing nearby Jewish settlers to build at large.

Hamdan Al-Raba one of the owners of the demolished homes said that the houses were built five years ago and that the landlords had repeatedly tabled requests with the Israeli authorities to allow them build those homes to no avail.

He accused those authorities with blocking Palestinian construction in a bid to control their lands then annex them to nearby settlements.
