Wednesday 31-January-2007

RAMALLAH. (PIC)– At least 21 Palestinian citizens were rounded up at the hands of the IOF troops across the West Bank at dawn Wednesday under allegations that some of them were concealing guns and knives. The arrested Palestinians denied the allegations.

IOF troops’ arrest campaigns against Palestinians in the West Bank escalated over the past few months as part of the Israeli occupation government’s plan to humiliate Palestinian people and disturb their family lives.

Former director of the Prisoner’ Supporters’ Society Khaled Mohammed Abu Baha’ was also arrested at his house in Ramallah city.

IOF troops ransacked house of Abu Baha’ and wreaked havoc on it before arresting him. He spent 8 years in Israeli jails and served a 16 month- administrative detention-term.

Meanwhile the Israeli military court in the Jalama military detention center extended the detention term of Hamas political leader in the West Bank Sheikh Khaled Al-Haj for 15 days said counsel of Tafish.

According to Mustafa Al-Azmoti who is counseling for the Hamas leader the court accused Al-Haj of leading hostile acts against Israel and of possession of firearms. The Hamas leader denied the allegations. He was arrested at his house 20 days ago.

In the occupied city of Jerusalem an Israeli researcher commissioned by the IOA to design the plan of Jerusalem city warned that the percentage of Jews in the holy city will decrease by 14% by the year 2020 in favor of the Arabs urging the IOA to swiftly isolate Arab suburbs to help the process of Judaization of the holy city.

Since the holy city fell under Israeli occupation in 1967 successive Israeli governments relentlessly strived hard to alter its Muslim and Arab landmarks and isolated complete Palestinian suburbs and towns with the aim to ensure Jewish majority and Judaize it.
