Thursday 10-May-2007

NABLUS (PIC)– A Palestinian unborn baby was killed in his mother’s womb at the hands of IOF troops that stormed Ein Beit Al-Ma refugee camp west of Nablus city at dawn Thursday local sources reported.

They said that the IOF troops’ shooting which usually accompanies any incursion into Palestinian areas hit the 30-year-old pregnant woman Maha Mohammed. The sources explained that a bullet hit Maha in the back and instantly killed her seven-month-old unborn baby.

They said that the woman was rushed to the Rafidia hospital where she underwent an immediate surgery noting that her condition was “serious” after she lost a lot of blood before the IOF soldiers allowed a Palestinian ambulance car to evacuate her.

Witnesses said that IOF soldiers in more than 30 army vehicles stormed the Nablus city and the refuge camp firing at random wounding two others: a teenager and a 30-year-old man.

They said that the invasion troops occupied a high building turning it into a watchtower as military choppers hovered overhead. They noted that violent clashes took place between the invading soldiers and Palestinian resistance fighters defending their city during which powerful explosions resounded in both areas.

The soldiers fired intensively at houses and civil buildings damaging the power station supplying the Ein camp with electricity.

They affirmed that a soldier was injured in the clashes and that an Israeli ambulance was seen evacuating him.

The soldiers arrested the 14-year-old boy Muhi Al-Shahruri in Nablus city and two other teenagers from Balata and Asker refugee camps east of the city respectively.
