IOF troops round up 15 Palestinians overnight

Tuesday 20-February-2007

NABLUS (PIC)– IOF troops arrested 15 Palestinian civilians in various West Bank cities and villages overnight Monday including a wanted AMB activist an IOF spokesman said.

He said that Mohammed Daoud who was arrested in Walaja village Bethlehem district is suspected of planning shooting incidents at IOF soldiers.

The spokesman said that the IOF unit in Nablus came under resistance fire and in Qalqilia resistance elements fired at an army jeep.

The Nasser Salahuddin Brigades armed wing of the popular resistance committees said its fighters blasted an explosive device in an IOF patrol in Beit Jala village northwest of Bethlehem city Monday evening.

The armed wing said that one of the patrol’s vehicles was directly hit and that an Israeli ambulance was seen in the scene of the blast.

Two armed wings of the Fatah faction earlier Monday claimed joint responsibility for blasting a “guided” explosive device in an IOF Hummer jeep at the borders of the Khuza’a town Khan Younis district south of the Gaza Strip before opening fire at the soldiers.

The armed wings said that the raids were in retaliation to IOA excavations at the Aqsa Mosque.
