JABALIA (PIC)– IOF troops stationed north of the Gaza Strip at dawn Saturday shelled a group of Palestinian activists affiliated with the DFLP armed wing killing one of them and wounding another.
Palestinian medical sources said that IOF helicopter gunship fired a missile at the group east of Jabalia refugee camp to the north of the Strip killing Fuad Madin Ma’rof 22 and injuring another. Both are affiliated with the national resistance committees the armed wing of the DFLP.
The armed wing said in a communiqué that its fighters were trying to repel an IOF special force that was attempting to infiltrate into the area.
PA security sources said that the IOF choppers fried at least four missiles at the resistance group noting that IOF tanks also took part in the shelling.
In a joint communiqué the DFLP armed wing and the Islamic Jihad armed wing said that a joint group ambushed an IOF foot patrol east of Jabalia and that a number of Israeli soldiers were hit. It added that the IOF warplanes then shelled the area killing one and injuring another.
It said that 5 IOF soldiers were wounded in the clash noting that IOF choppers were seen landing in the scene indicating that casualties were being evacuated.
