IOF troops storm seal off charity in Al-Khalil

Sunday 4-March-2007

AL-KHLIL (PIC)– Large numbers of IOF troops have stormed Saturday night the West Bank town of Shuyookh northeast of Al-Khalil city and ransacked a local charity catering for hundreds of local orphans and pupils in the town and sealed it off.

According to the raiding troops the closure of the charity was based on military orders from the IOA till further notice.

In the past the charity was ransacked at the hands of the Israeli occupation army more than once and suffered big losses during those raids.

Still in Al-Khalil armed Israeli settlers carried out an attack on a number of Palestinian homes in Kherbat Safa north of the city flocking from more than one direction under cover of heavy machinegun shooting but they were blocked by the town’s residents and fled the place.

A week ago an Israeli settler was stabbed to death in the town at the hands of Islamic Jihad fighters.

In Jenin governorate in the northern West Bank IOF troops backed by military vehicles and jeeps raided the Yamon and Kufrdan towns at dawn Sunday amidst intensive machinegun fire but no casualties or arrests were reported in the offensive.

In an apparent retaliation to the IOF troops aggressions in the West Bank Palestinian resistance fighters fired three homemade missiles at the Israeli settlement of Sderot in the 1948-occupied Palestinian lands.

The Aqsa Martyrs Brigades armed wing of Fatah faction issued a military communiqué; a copy of which was obtained by the PIC claiming responsibility for the rocket attack describing it as “natural” response to the relentless Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian people and the Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
