IOF uproots dozens of olive trees in Salfit

Thursday 10-June-2021

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday uprooted dozens of olive trees in a Palestinian-owned grove in the west of Salfit City north of the West Bank.

According to local sources the IOF stormed an olive grove belonging to the family of ad-Deek and embarked on removing its trees (planted about 10 years ago) using bulldozers.

The sources said that the IOF uprooted about 150 olive trees at the pretext they were planted in an area classified by Israel as a nature reserve.

The Israeli occupation authority in the West Bank has classified large tracts of Palestinian land as nature reserves in order to annex them for Jewish settlement projects.
