NAZARETH (PIC)– Israeli warplanes were about to down a foreign civilian plane over Tel Aviv two weeks ago according to Hebrew press reports on Monday.
Daily ‘Ma’ariv’ said that the Ben Gurion airport control tower lost contact with the incoming airplane due to a technical fault in that plane which made the tower deal with the matter as a possible security threat.
The paper said that the control tower contacted the Israeli air force and four warplanes were dispatched and escorted the airplane as soon as it entered Israeli airspace.
The fighter planes were about to unleash rockets at it when the tower realized the technical fault and asked for withdrawal of the warplanes the report concluded.
