IPS bans lawyers from visiting prisoner Diyab

Monday 14-August-2017

Israeli Prison Service (IPS) has been banning lawyers and family of the Palestinian detainee Bilal Diyab who is held in the solitary confinement cells of Megiddo jail from visiting him since he was arrested on July 14.

The family of captive Diyab 32 told Muhjat al-Quds Foundation of their concerns over the fate of their son about whom they have no information. He was previously arrested more than once in Israeli jails.

The isolated detainee Diyab had in a previous arrest waged an open hunger strike along with captive Thaer Halahla in protest at the illegal administrative detention order which is usually issued based on no charge or trial. Their hunger strike lasted for 77 days until their demands were met.
