IPS pressures Palestinian prisoner to break his hunger strike

The Israeli Prison Service (IPS) has put pressure on Palestinian prisoner Hassan Rabaya’a to break his hunger strike the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) revealed Thursday morning.

After his visit to Ela solitary confinement the PPS lawyer said that Rabaya’a started suffering sharp pains all over his body as his hunger strike entered its 29th consecutive days.

Rabaya’a has been transferred to Soroka Israeli hospital; however he refused to undergo any medical tests till meeting his demand to end his administrative detention.

Therefore he was returned to Ela solitary confinement amid unbearable detention conditions.

Seven Palestinian prisoners are still on hunger strike in Israeli prisons in protest at their illegal administrative detention.

Administrative detention is a procedure that allows the Israeli military to hold prisoners indefinitely on secret information without charging them or allowing them to stand trial.
