RAMALLAH (PIC)– Israeli Prison Service (IPS) reneged on a previous agreement with a Palestinian sick prisoner for providing him with appropriate health care and artificial limb for his amputated foot.
Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Committee said in a statement on Saturday the health condition of prisoner Mohammad Abrash who has been arrested since 2003 and sentenced to life is one of the most critical cases in Israeli jails.
Prisoner Abrash who is held in Ashkelon prison suffers from amputation of his left foot in addition to poor vision. He is in urgent need for artificial limb as well as cornea for his left eye.
The statement mentioned that the ill prisoner paid about 635 American Dollars one month ago for providing him with a new artificial limp. However the IPS reneged on the agreement and informed him that only a small piece would be added to the old one.
