The media committee of the Freedom and Dignity hunger strike said that the Israel Prison Service (IPS) transferred on Sunday morning the hunger striking prisoner Ahmed Saadat from Ashkelon to Ohlikdar prison.
The media committee affirmed that this action falls in line with a systematic policy pursued by the IPS to deprive Saadat of a visit scheduled on Sunday by the lawyer of al-Dameer Association for Human Rights.
About 1800 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails continue Sunday their open Freedom and Dignity hunger strike for the 28th day in a row.
The prisoners’ demands revolve around a number of basic rights which they are denied by the IPS and which they had clinched in previous hunger strikes. These demands mainly call for ending administrative detention and solitary confinement and allowing regular family visits.
