Injuries arrests near Bab al-Asbat in Jerusalem

Two Palestinians were injured and two others were arrested on Saturday after the Israeli police attacked Muslim worshipers who arrived at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem to perform the noon prayer via Bab al-Asbat.

Local sources reported that the occupation police assaulted the worshipers and beat them and two of them were wounded.

The Israeli police arrested other residents while strict Israeli measures were imposed in the Old City of Jerusalem at the gates of the Mosque and the roads leading to it on the fifty-second anniversary of the burning of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli occupation targets Jerusalemites with arrests deportation orders and fines with the aim of dissuading them from frequenting the Al-Aqsa Mosque and leaving it an easy prey for Israeli settlers.

According to a periodic report issued by Hamas’s media office Israel committed 3886 violations against the Palestinians in July 2021.

The report pointed out that the Israeli police and settlers launched 22 attacks on places of worship and sanctities and the Israeli authorities deported three Palestinians from their places of residence and the Al-Aqsa Mosque while providing protection to 3387 settlers who defiled the Mosque during the same period.
