Dozens of Palestinian students were injured on Sunday after Israeli forces attacked them with teargas canisters in separate assaults in the occupied West Bank.
Dozens of students suffocated when Israeli soldiers fired teargas canisters at them while taking part in rallies commemorating the 14th anniversary of the death of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in the villages of Tekou’a and Dar Salah east of Bethlehem.
Israeli soldiers intensively fired teargas bombs and bullet fire towards students and schoolchildren in the vicinity of Tekou’a school causing dozens of suffocation cases.
Tekou’a Mayor Tayseer Abu M’farreh told PIC that Israeli soldiers have detained the school’s headmaster and other staff.
Meanwhile dozens of schoolchildren choked on teargas after Israeli forces raided the Tariq Ben Ziyad School in al-Khalil.
Israeli soldiers fired stun grenades and teargas canisters towards the students causing panic among schoolchildren.
