Dozens of Palestinian citizens were injured on Friday during clashes that followed rallies condemning the Israeli settlements and the violations of the occupation in various areas of the West Bank.
Confrontations broke out between Palestinians and the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Mount Sobeih in Beita town south of Nablus.
Ahmed Jibril the director of ambulance and emergency at the Red Crescent in Nablus stated that two civilians were wounded by live bullets in their feet while 35 suffered breathing problems.
Jibril added that on Thursday the crescent teams treated 10 injuries with rubber-coated metal bullets dozens suffered breathing difficulties and 4 young men fell two of whom were taken to hospital for treatment.
In Beit Dajan east of Nablus the townspeople performed Friday prayer in the center of the village before they participated in the march called by the People’s Committee for the Defense of Lands in refusal to establish the settlement outpost on the lands of the eastern region of the village.
The IOF soldiers quelled the rally and 10 citizens were injured by rubber-coated metal bullets while others suffered breathing problems according to Jibril.
Meanwhile IOF attacked the funeral procession of the martyr Shawkat Awad 20 in Beit Ummar town north of al-Khalil.
IOF fired rubber-coated metal bullets stun grenades tear gas and sewage water towards thousands of citizens who went out for the funeral of Awad.
Awad was shot on Thursday by live bullets in his head and stomach and he was taken to the hospital before his death was announced later.
The funeral procession proceeded from al-Ahly Hospital to the house of his family then towards the cemetery of the martyrs where IOF attacked the mourners in the streets and alleys of the town.
