Saturday 19-December-2020

Clashes erupted on Saturday evening between the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and the Palestinian youths in Kafr Qaddum town to the east of Qalqilya city in the northern West Bank. Several Palestinians suffered breathing difficulty in the confrontations.

Local sources reported that IOF soldiers stormed Kafr Qaddum and fired tear gas canisters and several citizens suffered breathing problems.

The IOF soldiers attacked a march protesting settlements and the people of the village started chanting patriotic slogans calling for an escalation of the resistance. They also threw stones at the IOF soldiers.

On Friday the protesters in Kafr Qaddum managed to take down an occupation drone and smashed it with stones. This drone was intended for filming and firing tear gas canisters.

The village recently witnessed escalation in IOF raids which was represented by frequent night raids and ambushes in deserted houses with the aim of suppressing the weekly march but the citizens insist on maintaining the weekly event until the achievement of its goals.

For the tenth year in a row the weekly anti-settlement marches continue to demand the opening of the main road of Kafr Qaddum town which the IOF closed for settlement expansion.

IOF closed the main entrance to the village to expand the Kedumim settlement which is built on the village’s lands and link it to scattered outposts sprawling over an area of 4000 dunums of the village’s land.
