Several Palestinian citizens including two journalists were injured on Friday during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) who quelled the anti-settlement marches in the West Bank.
Hundreds of Palestinians participated in the anti-settlement activities on Mount Sobeih Beita – Nablus after performing the Friday prayer.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its crews until 3 p.m. treated nine injuries in Beita in Nablus three of them were wounded with live bullets and four with rubber bullets.
In Beit Dajan east of Nablus two photojournalists were injured during the IOF suppressing of a march one of whom is Nidal Shtayyeh who is a photojournalist working with Anadolu Agency.
Journalist Shtayyeh told Anadolu Agency that IOF soldiers fired metal bullets directly at the journalists wounding him with three bullets in his left leg.
Meanwhile IOF attacked the weekly Kafr Qaddoum march where civilians protested against settlements and demanded the opening of the main village street which was closed for 18 years.
Murad Shteiwi the media spokesman of Qalqilya stated that the IOF soldiers stormed the town before the beginning of the march while the citizens were performing Friday prayer at Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Mosque and they climbed the roofs of citizens’ houses and their snipers stationed there.
Dozens of citizens suffered breathing problems and were treated in the field.
The head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission Minister Walid Assaf and hundreds of citizens participated in the march and chanted slogans calling for an escalation of popular resistance.
IOF also quelled a rally in the al-Ras area west of Salfit and many Palestinians suffered breathing difficulties while a foreign solidarity activist was arrested.
Ammar Amer the coordinator of the factional coordination file in Salfit said that the settlers and the IOF soldiers chased the participants in the march with the aim of preventing them from reaching the outpost in the Ras area.
He stressed that the popular activities and rallies will continue in the area until the outpost is removed.
Meanwhile the Israeli police suppressed a march condemning the construction of a street serving the military and settlers in the al-Thaqara area west of Hizma town northeast of Occupied Jerusalem.
Local sources reported that the occupation police fired metal bullets stun grenades and tear gas canisters at the citizens.
A young man was hit with rubber-coated metal bullets in his leg while others suffered breathing problems and two fainted.
