Injuries in IOF quelling of West Bank marches

Dozens of Palestinians were wounded on Friday after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) quelled rallies condemning the Israeli settlement activity in the West Bank.

In Beit Dajan village east of Nablus the residents performed Friday prayer in the center of the village then participated in a march towards the Israeli-seized lands.

IOF fired metal bullets sound bombs and tear gas canisters at the marchers injuring five of them with rubber-coated metal bullets. They were treated in the field.

In al-Khalil many citizens sustained bruises and suffered breathing problems while others were arrested during IOF quelling of the weekly anti-settlement protest in Masafer Yatta south of al-Khalil.

The IOF soldiers prevented the civilians from praying on the lands of Umm al-Shaqhan which is threatened to be confiscated and fired stun and tear gas grenades at them and beat one of the participants with rifle butts.

IOF arrested five residents and declared the area a closed military zone.

Meanwhile IOF quelled the weekly Kafr Qaddum march in Qalqilia against settlements and against the closure of the village’s main street which has been closed for more than 18 years.

The IOF soldiers fired rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters. Dozens of people suffered breathing difficulties and were treated in the field.

The participants raised banners condemning the decisions of the Israeli occupation government to build thousands of new settlement units on West Bank lands.
