Injuries in renewed clashes in Nablus and Bethlehem

Wednesday 20-December-2017

Clashes continued for the second week on Wednesday between Palestinian citizens and the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) over the US recognition of Occupied Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Confrontations flared up between dozens of Palestinian youths and the IOF soldiers near Huwara checkpoint to the south of Nablus city.

Eyewitnesses told the PIC reporter that the IOF soldiers heavily fired rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at the youths.

In the same context the IOF closed Huwara checkpoint and prevented movement in both directions.

A Palestinian young man was injured after being hit with a tear gas canister in the face during the violent clashes that broke out between Palestinian youths and the IOF soldiers at the northern entrance to Bethlehem following a demonstration protesting the US Jerusalem move.

A Palestinian woman choked on tear gas while a number of Palestinian youths suffered rubber bullet wounds during the same clashes.
