Nine Palestinians were injured while dozens others suffered breathing problems as clashes broke out Wednesday morning in Abu Dis town southeast of occupied Jerusalem.
Local activist Hani Halabiya affirmed that the clashes erupted early today when Israeli forces stormed the town amid heavy firing of teargas bombs and rubber bullets.
One injury from live ammunition was confirmed while eight others suffered rubber bullet wounds during the confrontation he added.
A number of local schools were evacuated due to the heavy use of tears gas bombs by Israeli forces.
The Israeli police claimed that they were looking for a suspicious object in the town.
