Injuries reported in IOF quelling of Kafr Qaddum march

A number of Palestinians chocked on teargas on Friday after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) violently quelled a peaceful demonstration in Kafr Qaddum village east of Qalqilya.

A mass demonstration was organized in Kafr Qaddum in protest at the US embassy transfer to Occupied Jerusalem and in support of the Palestinians protesting in the Gaza Strip.

Popular resistance coordinator in Kafr Qaddum Murad Shtewi said that violent clashes broke out between the demonstrators and the IOF soldiers who heavily fired rubber-coated metal bullets and teargas canisters causing a number of suffocation cases.

Dozens of Palestinians on Saturday evening suffered breathing problems as Israeli occupation forces (IOF) quelled Kafr Qaddum weekly march.

The anti-Separation Wall and anti-settlement march also demands the reopening of a main road closed by the IOF 15 years ago.

The coordinator of popular resistance in Kafr Qaddum Murad Shtewi said that IOF soldiers raided the town and fired rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at the protesters. The wounded were treated in the field he added.

He pointed out that IOF troopers set up ambushes beneath olive trees in an attempt to arrest the Palestinian protesting youths.

The march kicked off with the participation of hundreds of the town’s inhabitants led by Minsiter Walid Assaf head of anti- Separation Wall and anti-settlement committee along with a number of solidarity foreigners.
