Friday 20-January-2017

A score of Palestinians along with foreign solidarity activists choked on tear gas after Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Friday afternoon violently attacked the weekly march staged in Nilin and Bilin towns west of Ramallah against Israel’s segregation wall and settlement.

Local sources revealed that the IOF soldiers showered the participants in the march with tear gas resulting in cases of suffocation among the marchers as well as Palestinians inside their homes including an 8-month-old infant.

For his part Mohammad Amera member of the Popular Committee against the Separation Wall and Settlement in Nilin said that the participants carried the Palestinian flag along with photos of martyrs and prisoners and chanted slogans against Israeli occupation and its crimes against the Palestinian people after they performed Friday prayer near the wall area.

Participants in the march in Bilin carried slogans against the new US president Donald Trump’s declared intention of relocating his country’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Occupied Jerusalem along with Palestinian flags.

Eyewitnesses said that IOF soldiers blocked the march from leaving the village via its western entrance and ordered them back saying that the area is a closed military zone.
