Injuries reported in anti-occupation weekly protests

Friday 10-February-2017

Dozens of Palestinians were injured Friday afternoon when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) quelled the peaceful anti-settlement weekly marches in Bil’in and Ni’lin villages west of Ramallah province.

A popular march kicked off in Bil’in village in Ramallah after the Friday prayer amid large participation of foreign activists. The protesters chanted slogans in support of Palestinian national constants and right of resistance.

They also called for releasing all Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.

The march was quelled by IOF once it approached the Iron Gate at the entrance of the village causing breathing problems among many protesters.

Two others including a child suffered different injures during the attack.

The media coordinator of the Popular Committee for Settlement and Wall Resistance Rateb Abu Rahmah called on the national factions and the Palestinian people to expand the popular resistance until the end of the Israeli occupation.

Meanwhile in Ni’lin the IOF quelled the weekly anti-settlement and anti-wall march and violently attacked the participants once they approached the Apartheid Wall.

Dozens choked on teargas but the protesters managed to plant olive saplings near the separation wall.
