Injuries reported on 13th Friday of Anger against US Jerusalem move

Dozens of Palestinians were injured on Friday in clashes with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the West Bank over the US president Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher Sheikh Ismail Nawahda condemned during his Friday sermon the Israeli aggressions on the Palestinian towns and villages in the West Bank in general and on the holy city of Jerusalem in particular.

Sheikh Nawahda highlighted the almost daily settler break-ins into al-Aqsa Mosque in light of the unjust and biased US decisions concerning Jerusalem.

According to the PIC reporter thousands of Palestinians performed Friday prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque amid strict security measures.

Meanwhile in Nablus dozens of Palestinian citizens performed Friday prayer in al-Shuhadaa Square.

Nablus’s Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Shoubash denounced in his sermon the US administration’s decision to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem on the anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba.

Shoubash decried the incessant Israeli crimes against Palestinian holy sites the latest of which was a decision to imposes taxes on Jerusalem’s Christian churches. He stressed the need to achieve national unity to confront the Israeli schemes.

Violent clashes broke out in Kafr Qalil and Beita towns in Nablus during which a number of Palestinian youths were injured after being attacked by the IOF with live ammunition metal bullets and tear gas canisters.

Five Palestinians including a journalist were injured dozens others chocked on tear gas and a foreign peace activist was arrested during the IOF quelling of a popular demonstration in Bil’in village west of Ramallah.

Several suffocation cases were reported after the IOF quelled a similar demonstration in al-Walaja village south of Jerusalem.

Local sources told the PIC reporter that dozens of Palestinian youths were injured after being attacked with tear gas canisters by the IOF soldiers stationed at the northern entrance to Qalqilya city.

In the same context a large military force stormed Azzun east of Qalqilya and erected a number of checkpoints at the town’s entrances.
