An international campaign is slated to be launched next Monday in Istanbul city in support of Sheikh Raed Salah. The campaign aims at showing appreciation to Salah’s role in supporting the issue of Occupied Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque and protesting the Israeli arbitrary measures against him through repeated arrests and unjust trials.
International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) announced a press conference to be held next Monday in Ramada Hotel in the Turkish city of Istanbul in order to launch the solidarity campaign which will last until November 12. Many events as well as official popular and media activities are going to be staged during that period.
The campaign also seeks to put pressure on Israeli authorities in order to release Sheikh Salah from Israeli jails and to support the Jerusalemite people who suffer from Israeli repeated violations and harassment.
Sheikh Salah was arrested by Israeli police in Umm al-Fahm city in 1948 Occupied Palestine on August 15. His detention was extended for several times and was subjected to many Israeli threats for his prominent role in defending al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy city.
