Palestinian young men on Thursday evening threw stones at Jewish settlers’ cars on a road near al-Arroub refugee camp north of al-Khalil amid intensive presence of Israeli occupation forces in nearby towns.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that local young men flung volleys of stones at Israeli cars traveling on the road between Beit Ummar town and the illegal settlement of Etzion north of al-Khalil.

1141 stone-throwing attacks reportedly occurred during the last three months in Jerusalem and the West Bank according to Israeli media reports.

Meanwhile the Israeli army in the evening of the same day intensified its presence at the main entrance to Beit Ummar town in al-Khalil and set up a makeshift checkpoint outside al-Fawwar refugee camp.

Local sources said that IOF soldiers embarked on intercepting and searching passing cars and citizens before allowing them to enter or leave Beit Ummar town and al-Fawwar camp.

No clashes reportedly happened between local young men and soldiers in these two areas.

In another incident IOF soldiers arrested in the evening three Palestinian young men at a military roadblock in Jenin and later released two of them.

WAFA news agency quoted security and local sources as saying that troops at an abrupt roadblock near Deir Sharaf town arrested Nawras Ghawadreh 24 and detained Mohamed Nassar 30 Mohamed Ayssa 28 for over five hours before releasing them.
