The Iranian foreign ministry has condemned Israel’s new plans to expand illegal settlements and annex parts of the occupied West Bank describing such steps as “part of US president Donald Trump’s fateful deal of the century.”
In a press release spokesman for the ministry Abbas Mousavi said that “such illegal actions violate the international law and threaten the regional peace and security.”
The spokesman accused Israel of exploiting the current global situation that resulted from the outbreak of the coronavirus to carry out its schemes.
“In addition to confronting the coronavirus the Palestinian people are also fighting other viruses such as the occupation the blockade and the sanctions” he said.
He called on the UN and the international community to assume their responsibilities and take action against the Israeli moves in the occupied Palestinian territories.
