Islamic-Christian Commission warns of calls for breaking into Aqsa

Monday 3-April-2017

The Islamic-Christian Commission for Patronizing Jerusalem and Holy Sites warned on Monday of Israeli calls for mass break-ins into al-Aqsa Mosque starting from next Thursday in preparation for the Passover Feast on 15th April.

The Commission said in a statement that the daily incursions conducted into al-Aqsa courtyards by extremist Jews under the protection of the Israeli police are part of an Israeli scheme aimed at Judaizing al-Aqsa Mosque in a prelude to achieve the Jewish dream of building the alleged temple on its ruins.

For his part Dr. Hanna Issa the Secretary General of the Commission called on the international community represented by the UN General Assembly and the Security Council to pressure the Israeli authorities to stop their violations against the places of worship and compel them to abide by the international humanitarian law particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention which stipulates protecting civilians in the time of war and under occupation.

The Commission pointed to the Israeli daily violations committed inside al-Aqsa Mosque under the very eye of the whole world and the blatant intentions of the Israeli government and its extremist settlers to take full control of al-Aqsa Mosque and turn it into a synagogue to perform their Jewish rites.

Posters were circulated on social media and the websites of the organizations interested in the alleged temple inviting settlers to participate in a number of events organized ahead of the Passover Feast next Thursday in the Umayyad Palaces adjacent to the southern wall of al-Aqsa Mosque al-Buraq Wall courtyard and the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem. The posters also called for mass break-ins into al-Aqsa to perform Talmudic rituals to mark the coming occasion.
