Islamic-Christian calls to protect Al-Aqsa and confront the occupation

Wednesday 27-April-2022

Speakers at the International Quds Day event on Tuesday unanimously agreed on the need to confront the Israeli occupation attacks and to protect the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque from attempts to divide and Judaize it.

The preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ikrima Sabri said that the nation is obligated to support the Jerusalemites and strengthen their steadfastness and for everyone to play their role to protect Al-Aqsa.

He underlined that the Israeli occupation failed to bring in the sacrifices inside the holy site and in allowing the march of flags to reach the Bab Al-Amud despite its brutality against the worshipers which led to the injury and arrest of hundreds.

Sabri pointed out that what happened in the blessed month of Ramadan confirms the Zionist ambitions in Al-Aqsa.

Jerusalem for its people

For his part the Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Sebastia Archbishop Atallah Hanna stressed that Jerusalem was and will remain for its people and that the policies of the Israeli occupation will never succeed.

Hanna stressed that the attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque is an attack on the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and whoever conspires against Al-Aqsa is conspiring against the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

He stressed that the occupation’s provocations and practices targeting Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque are unacceptable and will not succeed in stealing the city from its people.

Hanna said “We will not abandon our duty to protect Jerusalem and its sanctities and the Jerusalemites will stay put in defense of the holy city.”
